CST-CPT Temperature sensor

The CST-CPT is a Pt100 resistance temperature sensor with an integral 4-20mA transmitter and a standard DIN Hirschmann connector, designed for accurate, reliable temperature measurement in industrial environments. The Class A Pt100 sensing element is housed in a rigid 6mm diameter, 316 stainless steel sheath, available in standard immersion lengths of 50, 100, or 150mm, fitted below the hex of a ½" BSP process connection. The integral 4-20mA transmitter is housed in a 316 stainless steel body. It is loop-powered (10 to 30 Volts DC) and outputs a linear 4-20mA signal over a default range of 0–100°C, with an ambient operating temperature range of 0 to 75°C. A DIN-style Hirschmann connector allows for quick, tool-free installation and replacement while maintaining a reliable connection. The removable connector socket is rated IP65 and includes a central fixing screw and a PG7 cable gland suitable for instrument cable diameters of 4.5–6mm.

Compliance with European (EU) Standards

The CST-CPT’s Pt100 sensing element is manufactured to Class A tolerance, consistent with the DIN/IEC EN 60751 standard — the internationally recognised European reference for platinum resistance thermometers. This standard defines the resistance-versus-temperature relationship (100.00 Ω at 0°C, α = 0.00385 Ω/Ω/°C) and the permitted tolerance bands (Class A: ±(0.15 + 0.002×|t|)°C), ensuring interchangeability with other EN 60751-compliant Pt100 sensors and transmitters used throughout the EU market.

The stainless steel construction, IP65-rated connector, and terminal-based wiring also align with common European industrial protection and installation practices (EN 60529 ingress protection ratings, DIN 43650-style connector conventions).
